LMARS in the Media

As some of you may know, I am a member of SABRE, the Society for all British Roads Enthusiasts, and the society is expanding in national awareness terms, it has been referenced on University Challenge, and has been mentioned on a few radio programmes.

My own claim to fame happened in June 2004 when David Higgerson of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph contacted me to conduct an interview about myself and my website. When the article went to print on June 18, it turned into quite a decent birthday surprise (my birthday being June 22).

Then in early 2005, SABRE featured in the "Wheel Life" section of the Motoring Telegraph, following an interview conducted in the Arden Arms, Stockport, by journalist Lila das Gupta, who mercifully didn't portray us all as saddoes with no lives. Indeed, she was quite fascinated by our society and ourselves. The article went to print on the day of the Blackburn Awayday, January 15, 2005. Many thanks to Tony Priest for giving me a hard-copy of the paper, so I could get the photograph!

NB: Since the Telegraph is a broadsheet, scanning the entire page was extremely difficult, so I have copied the text from the Telegraph website, and scanned the main picture from the hard copy - although there were also photographs of maps on the hard copy!
