A6078: Signage Amendments

The "After" photos were taken in 2005.

The A6078 and A6077 are new numbers in Blackburn. The former is the Orbital, and the latter is the new number for the A6177 - which was a duplicate of the Bradford Ring Road.

The new signs are shown here, along with (if possible) their original version.

This sign was changed from "A677 (A59)" to A6078. (Copy Nook)

And again, note how "Preston (A59)" is now "Preston (A677)", and Burnley is now via the A678 - the A677 now ends on Preston New Road. (Penny Street)

At the bottom end of Penny Street, we see this sign. The original sign showed the A666 passing through the Bus Station, this is no longer the case. (Penny Street)

This sign is the same as the Penny Street one. Of course, the original didn't really make the grade, as you can tell! These patches were here for a long time. (Salford)

The new sign here shows A6078 clearly - the old doesn't! Incidentally, aren't the streetname signs much nicer than the "standard" ones? (Barbara Castle Way)

This sign has A678 badly patched on, whereas the old sign shows the A677 going along the now A678. (Eanam)

Unusual application of both A6077 and A6078 on the same sign! (Higher Audley Street)

The patching on this sign doesn't quite cover up the original sign legend... I think this needs to be fixed ASAP, it looks hideous! (Montague Street)
